I have an 877W that I'm trying to configure IPS on, but I'm not seeing any traffic to it. It shows that it's dropping packets but it's not logging anything.
This is strictly a test environment, and my question is what do I need to put on the inside interface in order to see traffic to it? I have an ACL of permit any any on the inside, and I have the IPS rule. I've tried to do an nmap scan, but nothing happens. I'm "assuming" that it's because I've got the any any entry in the acl.
Can you post the config of the 877W router, together with the explanation on the ip packet header contents of the traffic, direction of traffic (input and output interfaces) you want to send over the router.
