We have just installed a new DS-3 and with my SSM set to Auto I get 38 Down and 21 Up, and when I set it to not inspect I get 40 Down and 35 Up. I saw some time back where somone found a bug, but I was curious if this is the case now. Currently I am running 7.0(6)E4. Also what is the throughput of the SSM-10.
We are seeing somewhat similary - we had first ASA5510 w SSM10 as our edge fw which had a 100mbs internet connection - also with a terribly http-performance - at last we tried to upgrade to ASA5520 w SSM20 and a even higher connection - 250 mbps - and well - our througput now has increased ~ 90 mbps down and 70 mbps up but it is far away from what we had expected. For the same reason have I build myself 2 performance testers based on ooakla's module - one central based in our infrastructure and a mobile which I can plug in where needed. And based on these experiece I can say that what you measure of througput also depends of what you are measuring with. If we expect that the most interesting protocol to measure is http - and you maybe make use of ooakla's testmodule (this is used by f.ex speedtest.net) then you will get very varying values depending on if you are using windows 7 - windows xp - internet explorer 6-7-8 or 9 or firefox - opera etc and what version of flashplayer (go for the newest) - if your pc has a decent graphic-card or if you are running a linux desktop etc - so - ehhh - how are you measuring ? what are you mesuring ? which protocols ? do you have a baseline for how it should look?
