Auto update IPS sig - package download failed: HTTP connection failed

I am getting the following error during auto update of IPS signatures on ASA device (IPS v 6.1(2)E3)

The primary URL configured via IDM is https://198.133.219.25...........

which undergoes URL redirection i.e. 198.133.219.243

The message in 'show statistics host' on the AIP-SSM shows

LastdirectoryReadAttempt = Date & Time

= Read directory: http://username@198.133.219.243//swc.......

= Success

LastdownloadAttemtp - Date & time

= Download: http://username@198.133.219.243//swc.......S427-req-E3.pkg

= Error: autoUpdate successfully selected a package (http://...) from the cisco.com locator service, however, package download failed: HTTP connection failed

Policies allow the traffic out. ASA is the second layer firewall. First layer is a Fortigate. I checked the Fortigate logs and could see there is no response from 198.133.219.243 for connections initiated from inside.

Please suggest.

Thanks.
