Cisco ASA 5520, 8.02, 4GE SSM, IPS?

I have an ASA 5520 with 4GE SSM module.

In the ASDM, I see the basic IPS signatures...anyway to upgrade these signatures, add to them, etc?

Not really, you need to purchase the AIP-SSM module for that.

Farrukh is correct, you'll need one of the AIP-SSM modules. Unfortunately, there is only one module slot in your ASA520, so if you want to use an AIP-SSM, you'll have to give up your 4 port GigE module.
