CSA server migration to new hardware

Guys, your thoughts please.

I need to move a production CSA6 environment to a new server (new hardware) which is using a different (new) IP adres.

What is the best way to go about this? We are using a local database.

Should we install the new server and import the data from the old one?

6.0 or 6.0.1?

6.0.0.214 to be exact.

If 6.1 would make it easier we can upgrade first...

I believe migration to a new MC might be simpler.

Install 6.0.1 on the new server, import the settings from the 6.0 server and migrate the hosts.

Ok, but how do i go about this? Since the new server also has a new IP adres, how do i migrate from the old one to the new one?

Can i export settings & database on the old one?

I can't find this scenario in the documentation.

Unfortunately it looks as though 6.0 and 6.0.1 were considered the same version so there is no prepare_60_migration.exe package to help migrate from 6.0.

My apologies.

There are other ways to do it but they are cumbersome.

Tom

Been looking into this further.

Since we are using a 'remote database' (although SQL is installed on the same server) the backup configuration tool is not available.

Where does CSA keep all the config/licenses/logs? Is that all in the SQL database?

So if i want to install a new CSA server, i just take the new hardware, move/copy the SQL database, and install CSA?
