The File Blocking option is checked for blocking mp3, the user not able to save the mp3, but able to see the download progress up to 100% for a particular file, and when try to save, the trend micro will block. Is there anyway, we can block so that it will no able to initiate the download at all, from the Trend Micro. As it is still taking up the leased line bandwidth.
Depending on your users computer abilities, this may become harder or easier. If they are encrypting the files it's a little harder.
1. don't let your computer have admin rights on their machines
2. Create a abuse policy and make everyone sign it.
3. If you are using a HIPS agent on each workstation this task can be accomplished pretty easily.
4. If you are using a NIPS, network based IPS you can inspect the internet packets and block MP3's from even being downloaded [Unless they encrypt]. I personally use an IPS that can look inside encrypted traffic. It required the IPS's CA Certificate installed on all workstations and is very expensive 50K+.
