I get the following error when I try to open an ip log [created by changing the event action to log packets].
"The capture file appears to be damaged or corrupt".
Is this a known issue?

There was a known issue with downloading of pcaps through IDM within Microsoft Internet Explorer.
MSIE was modifying/corrupting the file during download. I am not sure if that issue has been resolved.
If this is how you downloaded the file, then try using the CLI copy command to download the file to an ftp/scp server:

example: copy iplog 111111 ftp://user@10.1.1.1//directory/iplog.pcap

Thanks for your reply.
I am actually using Firefox 1.0.7. I have also already tried copying the files from the CLI and it failed to open on my workstation and on a Linux server.
