We recently installed the new version 7.0.1 and configured Global Correlation on the IPS 4240. We are now updating every 5 minutes and also are configured for "Partial participation" in Network Participation.
For a long time, one of our users has been receiving "Real Time Virus Outbreak Alerts" from Ironport from the IronPort Threat Operations Center by Cisco.
Is there any need to get these Virus outbreak alerts anymore? If IronPort is hosting the SensorBase for GC, is it not redundant to receive Virus Outbreak Alerts since our IPS should knock any of that down based on it should already be aware?
