IDS 4215 boot options configuration

I just had a password recovery for IDS 4215 with 4.1 version. What i performed was to break the boot sequence and went through Recovery process. The password has been reset, IDS is working fine now however everytime the IDS is rebooted, i see IDS prompting for two options: Normal bootup and Recovery process, and the default is set to Recovery. Everytime, i have to select option 1 to boot it normally otherwise it would boot to recovery mode and the password will again be resetted. Please suggest a way to boot the router normally. Thanks

Here is a way to do it; however, I am not sure

if this is supported by Cisco:

1) log into the IDS

2) conf t

3) username admin pass 123admin123 priv service

4) exit

5) exit

6) log into the IDS,

7) username: admin

8) password: 123admin123

9) su -

10) enter the password of user "cisco"

now you're in "linux" shell mode

11) vi into /etc/grub.conf file and modify

the booting setting.

12) Save the file and reboot the IDS

I do this to my "franken" IDS running version

4.1 all the time. As I've said before, just

because it works does not mean it is supported

by cisco.
