IDS/IPS detects outgoing traffic?

I have 4215 appliance that I'm trying to get working. It's only logging the outbound traffic. I'm not sure what I need to configure to have it log the incoming traffic (which is what I thought the device was intended to do). Any/all ideas would be greatly helpful to me.

Hey-

I am not an expert by any means, but I have a 4215 and I think it has to do with the egress/Ingress setting. If I remember correctly the switch that my 4215 is plugged into you have to set egress/ingress on each port you have to monitor?

Ingress and Egress = Entrance and departure
