IDSM-2 ports

Hi,

I have inserted one IDSM-2 into Catalyst 6509.

I key in command "intrusion-detection module 8 data-port 1 trunk allowed-vlan 10 -11" at switch level

My question as below,

Is data-port 1 = G8/1 at switch level?

Is data-port 2 = G8/2 at switch level  ?

Thks in advanced.

Regards,

Steven Hoo

Re: IDSM-2 ports

I'm not sure if the IDSM dataports have 6500 interface assignments (they might).

You can see their traffic with the switch command:

show intrusion-detection module 9 data-port 1 traffic

and status (showing what VLANS are mapped to waht dataport channel)

show intrusion-detection module 9 data-port 1 state

Or if you were in the IDSM, data-port 1 and 2 appear as

physical-interface GigabitEthernet0/7

physical-interface GigabitEthernet0/8
