IDSM-memory is 99%

Dear Sir,

I see the memory of IDSM is 99% (you can look the following attachment).

Please show me how I can kill some processes to decrease memory?

Thank you very much.

Re: IDSM-memory is 99%

Sometimes Memory usage shown could be wrong. The actual memory usage statistics can be viewed from the service account by entering bash-2.05a$ free.Try upgrading the software version to the latest patch is now 4.1(4f).Refer URL

Re: IDSM-memory is 99%

The memory statistics in IDS 4.1 are not very accurate. They are based on the information that is used to calculate free memory in the "top" program. Unfortunately, "free" memory isn't a very good indication of "available" memory. If you run "top" from a service account, you need to add "free" and "cached" to get the actual amount of available memory.

There are no processes to kill to retrieve memory...the system is pared down already. Resetting the sensor is the recommended action if you feel memory is exhausted.
