Hi,
We have an IPS ASA-SSM-20, the license is expired and we 've bought a Smartnet contract for the device.
I would like to know how to update the license.
We tried to do it from ASDM, and chose the option to update from cisco.com.we got the following error.
internal error. Failed to send license request. - 4: Unable to tunnel thourgh proxy. Proxy returns "HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden
How to solve this problem or how to do when using the other option, how to get the license file.
Best Regards

It appears your AIP-SSM20 is configured to use an http proxy to connect to the Internet. If you can allow the management IP address of the AIP-SSM20 in your web proxy this may solve your problem.
If that isn't the issue, you can always apply a license manually. Get your license file here:
https://tools.cisco.com/SWIFT/LicensingUI/Home
and apply it via the ASDM or the CLI

Hi Bob,
Thanks for your reply.
We are trying to allow the management IP, but it is still blocked for now.
We would like to get the license, thanks for the url.
We have the serial number of devices and the contract number of the smartnet. We do not have the PAK.
Could you please tell which option should we choose or how to get the PAK if we have the contruct number and serial number?
Best Regards
