Step-by-Step Configuration and Troubleshooting Best Practices for the NGFW, NGIPS and AMP Technologies A Visual Guide to the Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD)

IPS Manager

Hi,

I've Cisco Security Manager Suite with IPS Manager.

I want to add a sensor...I go to Devices->Sensor as suggested by User Guide.

But when I open the page i don't have the Add function, but only Re-Import and Reboot...

Why?

I've not powered on the sensor...

The sensor is IDSM-2 module installed on a Catalyst 6500.

Thank you for your reply.

Best regards.

Massimiliano.

Re: IPS Manager

To add a sensor, use Cisco Security Manager. Adding a sensor to Cisco Security Manager automatically adds it to IPS MC.When you add a device to Security Manager, you specify the identifying information for the device, such as its DNS name and IP address. This information is added during device discovery. You can also bring in existing network configurations associated with a device by initiating policy discovery. The sensor should be powered on to be added to the device inventory. So power on the device and then try the same steps as done before.
