IPS rate limiting

hello,

i have IPS4260 in that i seen rate limiting option so with that can separate between two application and also about bandwidth.

my firewall is outside to firewall.

also tell me if there any option for fired signature log can i take backup.

so plz send me detail.

Rate-limiting is done on IOS routers not firewalls. They should be running at least 12.3 AFAIR.

You can have a backup of your IPS signature alerts via IPS Manager Express (IME) or Cisco MARS. IME is free and easy to use. MARS will provide 'intelligent' correlation also but is pretty expensive.
