license information

Hi,

My NIDS Version is 4.1 .I wanted to upgrade it to version 6.i am having the license for tht version 4..Can i upgrade without procuring new license from cisco

Version 4.x did not require a license. Versions 5.x and 6.x only require a license in order to update the signature packs. You did not say what model sensor you have, but if it running version 4.1 it is one of the older sensors. Upgrade to 5.1(7)E2 and you will have a signature version about a month old.
