snmp trap

Hi,

I am trying to generate trap from IPS 4215 6.0(4a)E1 to HP Openview.

I configured snmp section and required action (request snmp trap) using IDM.

I have alerts in event viewer but the only thing I get in trapd.log is: 1207730797 1 Wed Apr 09 10:46:37 2008 138.35.57.74 - 0x07 d8 04 09 09 2d 34 00;1 .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.383.0.1 0

I am currently stuck with no idea. Please help.

Re: snmp trap

I believe you'll need to load the appropriate MIB in Openview. Either that, or find out what that string of digits means from the IPS and create a custom alert to it.

This is what I was able to find regarding the alert: ciscoCidsAlert 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.383.0.1 NOTIFICATION-TYPE
