Stuck at 1st Step - IDS 4250

I am trying to test IDS 4250 in my test setup with console access i connected the box & just to find the serial number of the box i tried

sh version - it doesn't show the serial number

sh system - no such command.

& not able to find any command to find the Serial number of the box through console access.

Can some1 help me wats the right way for this.

The details are :-

sensor# sh version

Application Partition:

Cisco Systems Intrusion Detection Sensor, Version 4.1(1)S47

OS Version 2.4.18-5smpbigphys

Platform: IDS-4250

Sensor up-time is 2 min.

Using 241197056 out of 1980493824 bytes of available memory (12% usage)

Using 529M out of 15G bytes of available disk space (4% usage).

Cisco Systems Intrusion Detection Sensor, Version 4.1(1)S47

OS Version 2.4.18-5smpbigphys

Platform: IDS-4250

Sensor up-time is 7 min.

Using 252092416 out of 1980493824 bytes of available memory (12% usage)

Using 529M out of 15G bytes of available disk space (4% usage)

Neither in sh tech-sup i am able to get the serial number.

On the Box the Serial# is of DELL Server.

Please help.

The show version command does not include the serial number in 4.X. If you upgrade to 5.0(4), then show version will provide the serial number. Your only option in 4.X is to view the SN visually from the physical tag on the sensor.
