Unable to access AIP-SSM module by Cisco ASA 5520 console

Hi,

I installed a AIP SMM module in an Cisco ASA 5520 device.

After poweron the status and power leds on the module are ok.

When I am trying to access the module for basic configuring (by the ASA console), I get this message:

ASA5520# session 1

Opening command session with slot 1.

Card in slot 1 did not respond to session request.

Does somebody have experience with this issue?

Do I need an extra license to activate the AIP SMM module?

Hello Nico, did you try resetting the module?

hw-module module 1 reset

Module was defective and is replaced now.
