Re: Urgent : Upgrading to IPS 4200

hello zirya

i dont think u need any hardware for upgrading IDS 4235.. the only criteria for the IPS 5.0 upgrade is the memory .. make sure you have sufficient DRAM... i guess u need to have 512 Mb memory on the IPS box...

you must first upgrade your IDS software to 4.1... see the release notes of each version and make sure you have the base version of the software running... release notes can be found in the following URL:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vpndevc/ps4077/prod_release_notes_list.html

once u have 4.1 version of IDS running, u can upgrade to 5.0. the following URL has a very good training resource which gives a step-by step upgrade:

http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le31/le29/configuring_ips_4200_series_sensors.html

hope this helps... all the best.. rate replies if found useful..
