Dear Sir/Ma,
I bought a Cisco IP Phone SPA502G and the IP PHone is malfunctioning. Whenever I plug on the network the display message on the Cisco IP phone will display "initializing Network..".
Please what could be the possible cause of this and how can it be rectified?

Sam,
Will it be CUCM or any thing else ?

I can't speak for these phones, but generally, on a Cisco IP handset, if it says something like Initalising Network, it often means the phone is trying to DHCP. It can also mean the phone is trying to talk to the call control server (CUCM, etc) but is failing.
Unfortunately, it's one of those messages that hides a multitude of sins.
