Unable to find the hostname of the CUCM Pub, when installing a new CUCM Sub

Hi

I have installed CUCM Publisher on Cluster, then I want to install the CUCM Subscriber in Cluster, when Installling the Subscriber it says that unable to find the hostname of CUCM Publisher, ?  i cant give the IP address of CUCM Publisher as the hostname !!!

DNS is currently disable in this environment, how can i provide the connectivity between Publisher and subscriber without DNS ?

Hi Sasith,

Go ahead an put the ip address of the Publisher. That is what you're supposed to do in any case when DNS isn't available. Also, make sure you refer to the install document of the version you are installing. Here is the doc for version 8.5:

When I put the IP address of the PUB it says that invalid hostname !!!!

Hi Sasith,

Ok so, looks like you were doing it correct the first time. There could be several problems:

++     Did you add this Subscriber in the Publisher?

++     Did you get the security password correct?

++     Did you check LRO settings:

++     Restart Cluster Manager service on the Publisher.

I am installing new BE7Ks with version 11.5 and am having the exact same problem.  Not using DNS, and the second node is configured in the publisher.  Publisher is synced to an external NTP source.  I am getting the same error messages as above.  Any ideas?
