I have a 2811 router with Callmanager express. But it cannot recognized vic-4fxs/did. Is the router IOS not support? So what minimum version and features set is required?
Besides, Is the IOS upgrade for the router with Callmanager Express the same as a standalone router? or Other special procedure is required?
The VIC-4FXS/DID requires a minimum of IOS 12.3(8)T4 and the IPVOICE feature set. See the following link.
You will need to make sure that the version of IOS and the version of CME that you are using are compatible. Take a look at the CME/IOS compatibility matrix at the following link.
Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.
Below is my 2811 HW config.
PVDM Slot 0: PVDM2-16
WIC Slot 0: VIC2-4FXO
WIC Slot 1: VIC-4FXS/DID
Slot 1: NM-CUE
The FXO card is recognized. I tried to remove all card and only connect the VIC-4FXS/DID. But it still cannot recognized. The show diag indicate as unknow WAN daughter card.
I tried different IOS: IP Voice 12.4(11)T, SPSERVICES 12.4(11)T, SPSERVICES 12.4(4)XC4
From url Understanding Direct Inward Dial (DID) Voice Interface Cards:
It mentioned that :
1. On the Cisco 2801, 2811, 2821, 2851, 3825, and 3845 voice platforms, you need one or more PVDM2 DSP cards in order to support VIC and VWICs if they are installed on the chasis WIC slots, or you can have missing voice ports in the running configuration. The PVDM2 DSP cards hold DSPs that make the VICs fully functional, and are installed on the motherboard of these ISR platforms.
2. In Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(14)T and later, both modes of operation are available for the VIC-4FXS/DID card on the Cisco 2811, 2821, 2851, 3825, and 3845 ISR platforms.
I have 1 x PVDM2-16 on my 2811 chassis and I am using verion 12.3(14)T and later.
Try it on some other router but it definetely sounds like you need a replacement.
