6961 IP Phone exhibiting high jitter

Hi Everyone,

I have a site with a BE6k running CUCM 9.1, 8-port 3560 POE, with 3 phones.

1 x 7975, 2 x 6961.

The users were saying they hear choppy audio on the 6961 phones, but not the 7975.

Upon investigation I notice a v.high amount of jitter on the 6961 phones (in the thousands) vs 15 or so for the 7975.

What's done:

- SCCP firmware upgrade on the 6961 to the latest.

- checked duplex, interface errors on the switch (clean).

Anyone have any ideas what else to check?

is this choppy audio during a call,  between 6961 phones that are on the same switch?

choppy audio between the PSTN to 6961 during a call.

I actually haven't tested between 6961 phones if it exhibited the same issue or not.

But this issue is not seen on the 7975.
