7911 - Octoline Support ???

I use extension mobility and between a soft phone and my 7911 desk phone, when I am at home and on occasion provide remote support for our engineers on the road and I would like to be able to take and hold multiple calls -  so I set my extension as an octoline using the command ephone-dn octoline then logged out and back in on the softphone and everything was working fine.

When I came back into the office and logged into my 7911 desk phone it seemed to login as usual but then I had no ext. number and I couldn't make or receive calls. As soon as I switched the config back to dual line the 7911 worked again...

Is this a limitation of the 7911 phone?

Is there a workaround?

I'm not sure but there is overlay mode while configuring button for ephone-dn on cme.

Overlay lines are ephone-dns that share a single button on a multibutton phone

Haven't heard about same thing on cucm. So it seems like cme can display more buttons while cucm has hard coded button number.

Again, not sure for 100%
