7912G firmware upgrade from SIP to SCCP

Good Day, Guys,

Want to change firmware type for my 7912G.

It is based on SIP image cp7912080000sip060111a currently (version 8.0.0(060111a)).

I need to convert it back to SCCP, for example to CP7912080003SCCP070409A.sbin.

Note, that 7912G has static IP-address/Gateway/Netmask configured (we are not using DHCP).

Thank you.

Anybody knows how it could be possible to perform ?

The real problem is after I've configured static ip/netmask/gw and tftp ip address, the phone does not try to load this new firmware ?

My tftp server is 3cdaemon utility running on windows 2003 pc. It contains in root tftp folder 2 files:

* gk + PHONE.MAC.ADDRESS' with the following content

{

upgradecode:3,0x601,0x0400,0x0100,0,69,0x070409A,CP7912080003SCCP070409A.sbin

}

* CP7912080003SCCP070409A.sbin

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Tobivan,

the method with the file gk is more complicated, because you need to convert the text file to binary format, to do this there in an utility that you can download from CCO.

If you have CCM or CCME, just specify the "load" in there. That will generate a config.xml that should be enough for the phone to load new firmware. You can probably even use a file manually created for that, I can send it here if you need.

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

Dear Paolo,

I've downloaded Cisco tool _cfgfmt.exe_ with its auxiliary _ptag.dat_ to convert my input. 7912G has mac gk00146a62dafb.txt.

So, I've created input file, rename it to gk00146a62dafb.txt, enter the content

{

upgradecode:3,0x601,0x0400,0x0100,192.168.42.1,69,0x070409A,CP7912080003SCCP070409A.sbin

}

into it (where 192.168.42.1 is tftp server address).

But after all, cfgfmt shows the following:

{

C:\>cfgfmt gk00146a62dafb.txt 00146a62dafb

error: unknown or encrypted file: 'gk00146a62dafb.txt'

}

What did I do wrong ?

Thank you.

PS. Please correct my algorythm, or send me your file, if you can.
