I had an issue with a 7962 phone not displaying properly in the CME GUI. In fact, the phone actually displayed as a single line phone versus a 6 line phone. Ultimately what I ended up doing to resolve the issue was to upload the CME core files again to flash (only the core files). If you can't find another solution, keep this in mind. As was mentioned before - if you can live with doing this via CLI and it functions, then I wouldn't mess with it too much.
