7915-12 not working for CME

Hi,

I am configuring a 7915 module for a 7962G ip telephone on a CME. I'd configured the ephone and upload its firmware but the module shows at the screen the Cisco logo and all of the buttons are steady amber, all of them.

Is there any configuration that I'm missing or this expansion module is defective?

Belem,

Can you run this debug

debug tftp events

Then unplug the phone and plug it in again..Please put the output in a text file and attach here..

Also send the output of

show telephony-service tftp-bindings

Hi aokanlawon,

I ran the debug you asked me and there are no results, it seems that the expansion module is not asking for its firmware and same thing for the telephony-service tftp-bindings, I couldn't get the output of the tftp-bindings because the user is in a remote office.

Any ideas about what's happening?

Balem: Make sure that the phoneload for the sidecar is compatible with the phoneload for the phone it's attached to. To be sure, upload the latest phoneloads for both the phone and the sidecar.

The problem was on the telephone firmware, the expansion module was on a 7962 which needs its firmware named SCCP42.8-5-2S. In the configuration above I had only the 7960-7940 firmware loaded that's why the expansion module couldn't register.

A long time since the question was posted but one thing struck me when rereading it. Have you verified that the phone can reach the tftp server at all? If you don't see tftp request in the debug one should suspect that it can't communicate with the tftp server.
