Hi Dear Experts,

can you help me?

I have a problem to understand a possible configuration in a system with 2811 CCME and about 20 7931G IP phone.

When there is an incoming call now it arrives on botton 20 (line 100 = Segreteria) and it flashing amber color. A secretary answers and on she phone botton 20 change color in green fixed and on the others phones botton 20 turns off. When another incoming call arrives botton 20 flashing amber again etc...for maximun 4 incoming calls.

The problem is that incoming calls arrive on 100 line and the single secretary lines 103, 104, 105 and 106 are free and when a secretary answers to a call her line botton is turned off but instead of she is busy!!!

The manager don't see she is busy and he tries to call she but she are into a call and she cannot answer!!!

Question: Is it possible to monitor line state of 103, 104, 105 and 106 line when they has busy after answer on a incoming call too?

Router 2811 firmware: 12.4.15T1

IP Phone 7931G firmware: SCCP31.8-2-2SR1S.

Hi Adriana,

I think this is because this DN (103) is set up as dual-line you need to add the following. Have a look;

The following example creates an ephone-dn with the number 103 in dual-line mode. The no huntstop command allows calls to continue to hunt to other ephone-dns if this one is busy or does not answer. The huntstop channel command disables call hunting to the second channel of this ephone-dn if the first channel is busy or does not answer.

Router(config)# ephone-dn 10 dual-line

Router(config-ephone-dn)# number 103

Router(config-ephone-dn)# no huntstop

Router(config-ephone-dn)# huntstop channel

Router(config-ephone-dn)# exit

From this CME doc;

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps4625/products_command_reference_chapter09186a0080611350.html#wp1056194

Hope this helps!

Rob

Thank you Rob for best help,

but probably I didn't had explain correctly my question;

now I have to have four 7391G that ring simultaneously when there is one or more incoming calls and I have to see flash amber lamp of incoming line (100) = button 20 on everyone phone (3, 4 ,5 and 6). When one secretary answers to call, I would see the button equivalent to number of secretary to become red fixed and botton 20 (line 100) turn off. In this moment, all people of office would can to see that she is busy!

etc. etc for second, third and fourth incoming call for every segretary to answer to incoming call.

I have tried to modify configuration add command "secondary" line 100 to primary phone line, (see on the bottom), but yes, it works, but only one phone ring random... one time 103, one time 103, one time 102, one time 104 and so on...but not all simultaneously !!!

Is it possible to do it?

Please do you understand why? Is it a system bug???

Can you help me?

Thank you

Kind Reagards

Adriana

Adriana,

what you are seeing is normal. You are using shared line to receive calls, that has many disadvantages. For one, is that subsequent calls coming on the shared line, will be presented only to the phone that has taken the first call.

Second, you won't see the lighted button correctly for shared lines, because when you monitor a shared line with the 'm' separator, it will go red no matter who has actually taken the call.

I suggest that you set an ephone-hunt for this, else with the shared line you have to live with the limitations. There are way to configure around them, but confirm with the customer first if a regualt hunt woldnt be better.

Hi Paolo,

thank you for answer, but I'm reading on cisco doc:"Cisco unified Communications Manager Express System Administrator Guide" that about ephone-hunt Cisco writes for parallel hunt have possible use them only with SIP phone configuration and not with SCCP phone as I'm using now. Manual writes for SCPP phone configuration to use shared line.

I ask you if is it possible change use of phone from SCCP to SIP or are there any problems?

Please could you do an example about SIP parallel hunt?

Thank you for best support

Kind Regards

Adriana
