7942/7962 Handset Volume

I've had "a" client complain that the 7942 handset volume is too low, even when we increase it to max and use the "save" button.

Is there any way to increase the max handset volume on the 7942/7962?

Is this volume for internal

Is this volume for internal calls, external calls, or both?  If external, what's the full call flow including types of PSTN connections?  Depending on the type of connection/gateway protocol being used, it should be possible to increase the input gain.
