I recently purchased several 7940G Cisco phones for a song, and needless to say they have issues. My biggest problem at the moment is I cannot factory reset them to input a tftp address. **# won't work (Firmware version POS3-06-0-00), and when I restart the phone, hold down #, release it after the speaker button turns off, the phone starts up normally like it just doesn't want to even consider resetting (no message, even after I enter both key sequences 123..., 167...). Anyone have any idea why this would be? What are my options as for resetting these phones?

I believe it is * 6 settings that will reset this phone.

To unlock it for configuration, you will need to go to the SIP configuration and type in the password, which is cisco by default.

From there you can change the Tftp settings.
