I have a 7961 phone, trying to auto register to CCM 4.0(2), but message status is displaying file not found SEP<macaddress>.cnf.xml.
The 7961 is not listed in the phone type entry.
Can anyone help me on resolving this issue.

7961 will never register. CCM 4.0(2a) base doesn't support the 7961. Here's a FAQ for
the 7961:

Here is the important part of that FAQ:
Q. What Cisco CallManager release is required for the Cisco IP Phone 7961G?
A. Customers are required to use the most recent version release in each
Cisco CallManager train for full support: Cisco CallManager Version 3.3
(5)SR1, 4.0(2)SR2b, or 4.1(3)SR1.
You'll need to upgrade to at least SR2b to have 7961 support in 4.0(2a).
