7970 Not Working After CallManager upgrade

Upgraded (finally) from CM3.3(5) to 4.1(3)SR8 on the weekend.

A number of the 7970 phones did not upgrade properly and needed to be physically powered off and on to upgrade successfully and some needed to be factory reset.

I have problems with two last 7970 phones.

1. No display at all. After doing a factory reset it ends up sitting there with the headset light lit and the speed dials just flashing green in sequence over and over.

2. After factory reset another phone goes through the upgrade process but fails with write error for jar70sccp.8-4-1ES2.sbn

Any tips for what to try after factory reset fails??

Hi sir,

Step 1 Power cycle the phone.

The phone begins its power up cycle.

Step 2 While the phone is powering up (with a power brick) , and before

the Speaker button flashes on and off, press and hold #.

Continue to hold # until each line button flashes on and off in sequence

in yellow.

Step 3 Release # and press 123456789*0#.

You can press a key twice in a row, but if you press the keys out of

sequence, the factory reset will not take place.

After you press these keys, the line buttons on the phone flash red and

the phone goes through the factory reset process.

Do not power down the phone until it completes the factory reset process

and the main screen appears.

An option on step 3. Instead use the sequence: 3491672850*#

Cheers GG,

The secret number sequence you listed at the end did the trick on both phones.

I am assuming the second number combo is a 'real' factory reset yeah?

Thanks for the tip !!
