7970G Sleep Mode

Is there a key combination to put the phone to sleep any time? Thanks

Re: 7970G Sleep Mode

Hi Andy,

There is no key sequence (currently) that can be used to put the 7970 into "Sleep Mode". You can tweak the "Display Idle Timeout" time way down so that the phone goes into "Sleep Mode" quickly when not in use but that's about as good as it gets.

Hope this helps!

Re: 7970G Sleep Mode

Thanks Rob. I'm using CME. Is that setting on the phone config or telephony service config? thanks

Re: 7970G Sleep Mode

Hi Andy,

Sorry about that :) There are similar commands for CME shown in the attached doc. You should be able to play with these to come up with the ultimate "power save" mode;

The following example shows how to set the backlighting parameters so that there is no backlighting of the phone display for all Cisco Unified IP phones with backlight capabilities until there is user interaction with the phone. The backlightIdleTimeout parameter is configured so that the backlight will switch off again after 60 seconds of inactivity.

Router(config)# telephony-service

Router(config-telephony)# service phone daysBacklightNotActive 1,2,3,4,5,6,7

Router(config-telephony)# service phone backlightOnTime 07:30

Router(config-telephony)# service phone backlightOnDuration 10:00

Router(config-telephony)# service phone backlightIdleTimeout 00.01

Router(config-telephony)# create cnf-files

Router(config-telephony)# reset all
