7971G-GE can't use CFwdALL

Hi,

I have one 7971G-GE with firmware SIP70.9-3-1SR4-1S, i configured all perfectly with my Asterisk server, but i can't use the CFwdALL button (softkey), when i push a number for forward the calls, don't work, and appears reorder.

I read that the problem is that only works with the primary line, but i have only one line (the first).

I read too that the problem is a bug (but in another firmware version), and must disable kpml, and i change the value (3,2,1,0), and it didn't work.

<kpml>3</kpml>

This is my .cnf-xml file:

I can't access via ssh or via web. Via ssh, with this configuration it must work, but not, and via web, i can see only some values and logs, I can't modify values.

Via Cisco Configuration Assistant i try to connect, but appears one error message "unsupported device or unsupported firmware".

Anyone can help me?

Try using the DefaultFP.

Try using the DefaultFP.

Your SEPmacaddress.cnf.xml should containt something like this:

 <featurePolicyFile>DefaultFP.xml</featurePolicyFile>

Hi Leo,

Hi Leo,

First of all, thanks for you reply ;D

I change my SEPmacaddress.cnf.xml adding this line, and i put the DefaultFP.xml in the root of the tftp, but when the phone boots, didn't request for the DefaultFP.xml file (yes with the others: tzupdater.jar, dialplan.xml, ...).

Now my SEPmacaddress.cnf.xml:

...

    <commonProfile>
        <phonePassword></phonePassword>
        <backgroundImageAccess>true</backgroundImageAccess>
        <callLogBlfEnabled>2</callLogBlfEnabled>

Sorry for the late response .

Sorry for the late response ... Ok, your soft key Call Forward All is not working correctly.

In you SEPmacaddress.cnf.xml you must have an XML tag of

<softKeyFile>FILENAME.xml</softKeyFile>

To get a working "softkey" XML, go HERE.

Hope this helps.  Don't forget to rate our useful posts.

I change my SEPmacaddress.cnf.xml adding this line, and i put the softkeyDefault.xml file in the root of the tftp. The same that i do with the DefaultFP.xml file, and the same problem: when the phone boots, didn't request for the softkeyDefault.xml file (yes with the other files: tzupdater.jar, dialplan.xml, ...).

Now my SEPmacaddress.cnf.xml:

I think, the problem is that the phone didn't ask for this files (softkeyDefault.xml and DefaultFP.xml), but as you can see, in the SEPmacaddress.cnf.xml file exist this tags, with the filename that exists in the root of the tftp server... :S

Leo Laohoo, thank you very much for your replies are very helpful to find the solution to my problem.

Me bad.  I didn't notice your phone firmware.

Why is this important.  Because I have a 7970 at home and I tested firmwares 9.3(1)SR4 and 9.4(2).  And this is the reason why SEPmacaddress.cnf.xml (and associated files) were never downloaded?

I am not sure WHEN or WHAT version this started but the very minute the phone is able to register with a call server, the SEPmacaddress.cnf.xml is downloaded ONLY ONCE.   And by the way, the "traditional" way of factory-resetting the phone, hold down the "#" key during the phone bootup and hit the number keys, DO NOT WORK.

The only way to force the SEPmacaddress.cnf.xml file to be re-downloaded is to factory-reset the phone.  The only way to do this:

  1. Hit Settings;
  2. You will see the "lock" icon on the top-right corner;
  3. So hit the key combo **# and "lock" icon becomes unlock;
  4. Now look at the lower right-hand corner to the 5th soft-key and you'll see the "Erase" soft-key appear.  Press this;
  5. The phone will reset and reboot.

Hope this helps.

PS:  Your "tzupdater" file is old.  You can download it for free from the Oracle website.

Hi, my firmware is SIP70.9-3

Hi, my firmware is SIP70.9-3-1SR4-1S (the same that you tried: 9.3(1)SR4)

If i erase the values in the phone settings menu, it do the same that if i unplug and replug the phone, and also i must reconfigure some values, as desktop image, but the result is the same.

I can see in the tftp server logs that didn't upload softkeyDefault.xml and DefaultFP.xml files.

I'll try to do a full reset with 3491672850*#

Again, thanks for your help ;D

Clemente,  It won't work.

Clemente,

It won't work.

When running firmware 9.3(1)SR4, holding down the # key while the phone is booting is either NOT WORKING or DISABLED.

The only way to force the phone to pick up the SEPmacaddress.cnf.xml is to use the "Settings" method as I've mentioned above.

I tried to do the Erase

I tried to do the Erase settings with the "Erase" button (for two times), and didn't work. It only download from tftp server the SEPmacaddress.cnf.xml and dialplan.xml (not tzupdater.jar)

I think it'll be imposible to use call forwards in the phone :(

My tzupdater.jar is the same that the tzupdater.jar in the oracle website (I downloaded it few weeks ago), anyway I downloaded again.

Again again, thanks for your help and for your time in this issue ;D

Hi,

Hi,

I made today some tests, and showing the Asterisk CLI, i can see this message:

chan_sip.c:25772 handle_request_invite: Call from 'caller-ext' (ip:port) to extension 'x-cisco-serviceuri-cfwdall-500' rejected because extension not found in context 'public'.

Then, i modified my extensions.conf, and i created an entry for x-cisco-serviceuri-cfwdall-500 (500 is an extension to try the forward), and works.

I read in Internet some info, i found that i must modify the dialplan with:

; Enable forwarding
exten => _x-cisco-serviceuri-cfwdall-.,1,Answer()
same => next,Set(SIPPEER(${CHANNEL(peername)},callforward)=${EXTEN:27})
same => next,Hangup(normal_clearing)

; Disable forwarding
exten => x-cisco-serviceuri-cfwdall,1,Answer()
same => next,Set(SIPPEER(${CHANNEL(peername)},callforward)=)
same => next,Hangup(normal_clearing)

But it didn't work, because now sippeer items don't contain callforward (and can't write it).

My question is, How do you do it?
