I know this question has been asked in various forms over the internet, but after trying most... i'm stuck!
I have a PBX running 3CX and my client currently has 8 x Cisco 504G phones with the 500S Expansion module. However, for the MD and Chairman my client would like the 7975G with the 7916 expansion board. 3CX is a SIP based PBX so i need to convert the phones to this.
Having ordered the 7975 and the expansion board i have done the following (albeit only on the phone - the expansion board hasnt even left the box yet!):
I tried the latest firmware for sip - v9.3 and that fails to work. Having researched the internet again i realised that everybody says the latest versions dont work correctly so the phone is now running SIP 8-3-2SR1 - the same one used in the above tutorial
The error that i'm getting is despite creating a provisioning template, again as the guide above says, the phone says 'unprovisioned'
Obviously there is no way (that i can see anyway) to configure the phones on a web-based gui like with the SPA series so it all has to be done by XML.
The only concern i do have is that people have been saying it will only work if you are integrating the phones through sip with CCE and CUCM - of which i run neither - ideally i need to get these to work directly with the SIP server.
After doing more digging it looks like i may need to flash it with another file starting POSxxxxx but nobody seems to talk about this any more in depth, it appears that is only relevant for the 7960 series.
I know this is possible to do.... somehow, so if anybody has any advise on what i could try that would be great! And then if anyone has tried, ultimatley what headaches i might come accross using the 7916 after getting the phone to connect.
Are you getting this error “Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported. The installer cannot run in this UI mode. To specify the interface mode, use the -i command-line option, followed by the UI mode identifier. The value UI mode identifiers...
The below trick might come handy when you have to add a new node to a cluster but you don't have or is unsure of the security password for the publisher. This procedure has been around for ages.
