Hi,

Yes, it's supported by CME. You can read this datasheet

The  phone is supported on Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express  (CME) Versions 15.3(2)T, PI21, 15.3(3)T, PI22, and later.

8831 uses SCCP, to register to UC540, then right?

Yeah CME, but on UC540 smb system too??

8831 use SIP not SCCP to register to UC540.

UCS540 runs CME. CME is the IOS's feature.

I think I read where SIP phones (Cisco phones) not TAC supported deployment in UC540.

Is this true?  Only SPA phones with UC540 are TAC supported ??  True/False

False. You can register Cisco's phone running SIP and they will be supported by TAC. Third party phones are another deal!

Just need to read Call Manager Express documentation to know which phones are supported.

Actually that link is incorrect, here's the bug:

CSCui95307

In 8831 Data sheet support of 8831 phones info in CME-10.0 is incorrect

Currently it's not supported on CME, it might be in the future, but it's not supported with SMB products.

What model conference phone do you recommend that will work with UC540?

Hi Jeanie,

In addition to the great help from Java and Leo (+5 folks)

I think your next best bet would be the 7937 which is supported on the

UC5xx series;

Sadly, it has recently been announced as EoL (end of life) but you don't have

many options;

Cheers!

Yeah, I'm recommending that my customer consider going ahead and replacing the the UC540.. Cisco 7937 has EoS/EoL milestone out there now too!! http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6788/phones/ps379/end_of_life_notice_c51-729487.html

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR INPUT!!!!!
