     Hi All

I have just upgraded my 8945 to the latest firmware and the directory button no longer works, when i look at the phone on the browser i notice the Directory URLs are missing since the upgrade. Has anyone had this problem?

Below were my URL's before the upgrade, they are now no longer there

Information URL  http://10.1.1.2:8080/ccmcip/GetTelecasterHelpText.jsp

Directories URL  http://10.1.1.1/App-Pendix/PhonePages/AppPendixMenu.aspx

Services URL  http://10.1.1.1:8080/ccmcip/getservicesmenu.jsp

Regards

Colin

I just upgraded one of my 8945's and I see the same thing.  The reason the URLs are missing and the directories button is not working is because the phone is saying that it cannot download it's configuration file from the TFTP server so it's falling back to getting the XMLDefault.cnf.xml file.

If you check the phone's web page or status messages from the settings menu do you see this?

"can't download configuration file from "

Hi

yes i see "cant download configuration file" message, however the phone works in all other respects other than the directory.

HI

If your reading this, i just got off the phone with CISCO Tac and was told they are seeing a lot of reports of directory button not working issues for this firmware release, so we have hit a fresh bug, it doesnt have a number yet.

Colin

The cause is due to not having the latest CUCM device pack installed (requires a reboot).

Note

The  Cisco IP Phone 8941 and 8945 support a new "secure by default" feature  with this release. Before phones are upgraded to Firmware Release  9.3(1), the Cisco Unified Communications Manager must have devpack  8.0.3(24049)/8.5.1(14070)/8.6.2(22030) or higher installed. The phones  require this devpack. If the correct devpack is not installed first, the  phones cannot successfully register to the Cisco Unified Communications  Manager.

Hi Joe

Sorry i didnt see your post until today, thanks for taking the time to reply. I guess you know more than the TAC guy i got.

Ill look into this and let you know how i get on.

I have the same issue.  I've installed the dev packs and it still isn't working.  I think that's a red herring.  The described section doesn't say anything about directories not working, it says the phone won't register.  Registration is working just fine.  The dev packs did fix my 9971's directory from not working but the 8945s aren't working.

The only odd thing I saw was that the suggestion also said to reboot.  Did they mean the phones need to reboot or the CUCM cluster?  I've got the TFTP services restarted which should put the newest firmware packs out there.

i downloaded the devpack and uploaded it to the cucm in OS Administrator through SFTP

what the next step to do
