8945 Phone: Place call on hold and make a new call?

Does anyone know if it's possible on an 8945 phone to place an active call on hold and then make a new call while the first call is still on hold?  The phones in question only have a single line button configured with a DN.

Also, they're registering to a CUCM 8.6 server.

I found this but it doesn't specify:

Thanks!

Don't know about 8945 but for 79xx phones you can configure this behavor by specifying the number of calls in dn configuration in UCM.

8945 Phone: Place call on hold and make a new call?

Sorry for the wrong forum.  This turned out to be a phone firmware issue caused by a bug:

Per TAC:

Seems you are hitting is this bug CSCtq94796:

Unable to place 2nd call from same line appearance on 894x phones

Symptom:

When an active call is placed on hold and the user presses the New Call key they get the following message.

"Unable to create a call, the maximum number of calls for this line has been reached."

This is by design. Features supported are the following:

Maximum calls is hard-coded to 3. Busy trigger is hard-coded to 2. When there is no call on the line, the user can make or receive a new call. When there is one call on the line, the user can make a consult call or receive a call. When there are two calls on the line, the user can make a consult call.

What they can't do is put a call on hold and press New Call.

Conditions:

8941 or 8945 on CUCM 7.1.5 and higher running firmware 9.1(2) or 9.1(2)SR1.

Workaround:

None. Firmware 9.2(2) due out Oct 2011 will change the behavior of the phone so this no longer occurs. Maximum calls/Busy trigger will be changed to 24/24 and configurable.
