9971 registered to CME fails to call CUCM IP Phones

Hello guys,

I registered 9971 and CIPC+CUVA to CME 9.0 (c3900-universalk9-mz.SPA.152-2.T1.bin).

I also have a CIPC+CUVA registered to a CUCM 8.5.1.10000-26.

I try H.323 trunk and SIP trunk to connect the CME and CUCM.

CME CIPC+CUVA works flawlessly, it can call CUCM CIPC+CUVA either using H.323 trunk or SIP trunk (audio and video).

CUCM CIPC+CUVA can call to CME CIPC+CUVA either using H.323 trunk or SIP trunk (audio and video).

Unfortunately, CME 9971 cannot call to CUCM, neither using H.323 trunk nor SIP trunk, it just terminate the call (no busy tone or anything).

Later, I tried to register the CME to gatekeeper, and the CME 9971 can call another CME (audio only), but still, not to CUCM.

Have anyone tried this?  Is it possible for a CME 9971 to call CUCM phones?

Thank you for helping.

Regards,
Christian

It should be possible.

You may have a configuration problem but without seeing config or traces it's impossible to say which.

Hi Paolo,

What traces do you need?  CUCM traces or CME debugs?  Thanks.

You should look the CME traces to begin with.

Anyway to be honest with you, this kind of issues are better dealt with the TAC. Discussion in a public forum cannot replace their work.

9971 registered to CME fails to call CUCM IP Phones

Hi Paolo,

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately, this is just a Proof of Concept for a customer, so I can't involve TAC at the moment, but I think I'll try contacting local Cisco engineer.

Please contact me if you hear something about this.  Thanks.

Christian

9971 registered to CME fails to call CUCM IP Phones

Hi Victor,

Several days and restarts later, the call suddenly worked.  I didn't think I made any change to the configuration.  Maybe it's just a glitch or something.  Until now, I've been facing many weird problems with CME and 9971, if there's anybody successfully using this combination, please share your experience here.  Thank you.

Regards,
Christian
