a few quesions about CCM

I have a few questions need to be clear:

There are a few items under "System" menu bar: Server, callmanager and call manager group. What is the difference between server and call manager?

Mu understanding is server is callmanager.

The concept of cluster and publisher and subscriber: If I install a Callmanager on the first server with SQL server, I can assign it as primary call manager and Publisher. then if I need to install another callmanager on the second server, I will assign it as backup call manager, does that mean the second server also subscriber?

thanks for your help

Re: a few quesions about CCM

Server is where you update the HostName/IP Address, MAC and description of each server.

Call Manager is where you set a number of configuration items for the Call Manager such as directory numbers, partitions etc.

Please refer to the CCM installation guide for your questions on publisher vs subscriber installations.

Re: a few quesions about CCM

The second server will become a subscriber if you configure it to become of a subscriber of the publisher.

There is some configuration work that needs to be performed for the CCM instance to become a subscriber.

There is a subscriber radio button, publisher IP address, passwords sync. This is all expained in the CCM installation guide under installing the publisher and subscriber databases.

I hope that clears things up for you.
