I have a customer who wants to integrate their existing AD with CCM 5.1. It is so that everytime when a new staff member is added to their AD, that new staff member will automatically show up on the phone's Corporate Directory.
Also, because their AD has a lot of junk info for each user, does CCM 5.1 allows u to decide which 'field' to import?
AD integration with CM 5.x works different from CM 4.x. In Cm 5.x the Information from AD is stored into Database and AD is queried only when trying to retrieve only certain information. Also, there is no real-time update between CM and AD. CM polls for new information from Ad every 30 minutes or when you do a Manual re-sync.
Regarding being able to decide which field to import, there is no such option available as to which field to import, but CM does not import all information from the AD. It only imports information which it needs.
