I have a router that receive the E1, I did had 20 digital lines, but now are increased at 30 digital lines, I need configure the controller E1 for receive the 30 digital lines. I´m trying to configure this but I see errors in the CLI:
1.- voice-port 0/0/0:0
2.-controller E1 0/0/0:0
ds0-group 0 timeslots 1-15,17-31 type r2-digital r2-compelled ani -> no accept this command because the voice-port no exist
from here I can not advance,I do not know what commands missing.
Thank you for response.
Is that the exact error the router is giving you?
Can you attach the following show commands?
Also what was the exact commands you followed to make the change?
~ Luis Ramirez,
Here is a basic template to configure an E1:
network-clock-participate wic 0
network-clock-select 1 E1 0/0/0
isdn switch-type primary-net
controller E1 0/0/0
pri-group timeslots 1-31
no ip address
isdn switch-type primary-net5
isdn incoming-voice voice
no cdp enable
cptone (your country)
Or is this what your are trying to achieve?
controller E1 0
clock source line primary
ds0-group 0 timeslots 1-15,17-31 type r2-digital r2-compelled
First shut the proeviously created voice port.
Remove the actual controller configuration
Configure the controller as follows:
controller e1 0/0/0
pri-group timeslot 1-31

Hello, thanks for your responses helped me very much.
I have the commands and errors completes:
When I enter the command:
ds0-group 0 timeslots 1-15,17-25 type r2-digital r2-compelled ani into the controller e1, I receive this error:
% Not enough DSP resources available to configure ds0-group 0 on controller E1 0/0/0
% The remaining dsp resources are enough for 20 time slots.
% For current codec complexity, 1 extra dsp(s) are required to create this voiceport.
This the inventory in the router:

I have the transcoding:
dspfarm profile 1 transcode
maximum sessions 15
associate application SCCP
I have CUCM 7.0, Contac Center 6.0, SIP trunk, 1 E1.
I need another PVDM card? The router can be have two PVDM card? Which PVDM card you recommend ?
Please change the maximum session from transcoding to little lesser value.
may be maximum session 12 and try the command which you trying it won't be giving the error.
you can try to remove from connference if you have that also.
you need to down the controller, serial interface for controling (signalling) and then voice port.
try no dso-group and try dso-group with required channels.
hope this help.
Also is it controller e1 or t1?
You are right, the PVDM2-64 is not enough for that setup.
You currently have a transcoder doing using a lot of resources.
You'll need at least another PVDM2-48 to have the full E1 or lower the sessions on the transcoder.
Here you have a link with a DSP calculatior you can use, but would suggest you to contact your sales engineer so they can recomend you what's best fpr your network.
~ Luis Ramirez,
I would recommend you to configure the E1 with 30 channels before you create the dspfarm for the XCODER. Also remove all codecs with a "b" in the name from any dspfarm. B is equal to VAD and a popular saying is VAD is BAD. If you don't need VAD, in most cases it's not used, then I would recommend you to remove these codecs. This will also lower the over all complexity for the codecs, this requires less DSP resources.
When you have setup the E1 with 30 channels and removed all codecs with a "b" in the name you can do a max session ? under the dspfarm to see how many sessions you can support for the XCODER. If you don't get enough sessions you will have to add more DSPs.
