Hi all,

I have some question would like to clarify and understand that can I download the device load profile for the phone model of 7811, 7821, 7841 and 7861 from this download link = https://software.cisco.com/download/home/284892537/type/282074288/release/11.7%25281%2529 without installing the whole device package. The call manager that currently in use was version 9.1.2.11900-12 which does not have any 78xx series of IP Phone in the current device default lists as shown in the attachment. Kindly advise that can I install the device load profile directly onto the call manager version 9.1.2.11900-12 with this reference?

Reference Links = https://www.cisco.com/web/software/282074288/141766/cmterm-78xx.12-1-1-12-readme.html

Thank you.

Yes, u are correct.

Prior to upload of Device pack, keep snapshot from Device-Device Settings for firmware of existing working endpoints. Copy the names in notepad

After device pack is uploaded, check for the firmware of working endpoints under the same page. If any change, then please copy the same name from earlier snapshot.

Now, restart TFTP service.

the old firmware would remain . You can check from CLI of server by CUCM [say Publisher] using command

file list tftp *sccp79* [this is case sensitive]

or file list tftp *

or file list tftp *Jabb*

Hi,

You need to add Device pack on all CUCM servers in a cluster so that you can configure 7821 series. Also, need to restart tftp service .

Uploading the firmware is not going to help.

below is the link for downloading device pack.

Hi,

Thank you for your advise. For another question after I studies the reference links that provided by you which stated that "Once Device pack installation is complete, you need to paste the firmware information on Device default Communication manager. Navigate to Device > Device Default > paste the firmware information that you would like to the keep as same firmware on Endpoints then click the icon in order to swap firmware on endpoint". Regarding on this, I will able to remain with the old firmware which I do not wish to make the firmware upgrade, am I right?

Refer to the photo from Cisco website as shown below, they have the options to choose the "Inactive Load Information" which different compare to my call manager screen output.

Is this column will only appear when there have two or more firmware available to swap/load to the IP Phone?

Thank you for your kind answer.
