Hello Experts -
I need some assistance with the process of adding the needed device service pack to my CM cluster 8.5.1 in order to support 8831 conference phones.
I need to upload a Public Space license as well as a device service pack. Which should be uploaded first? The Public Space license or the device service pack?
I have two different versions of the DSP on my desktop. One is cmterm-devicepack8.5.1.16108-1.cop.sgn
The other is cmterm-devicepack8.5.1.17115-1.cop.sgn
Which one should I use?
It says that I need to upload the device pack to CM via a DVD/CD, it will not accept a Windows based location. Do I also need to change the file type of the device pack before uploading to CM?
In Cisco Unified OS Administration>Software Upgrades>Install/Upgrade, what do I need to put in the following fields? The instructions are very vague.
Source - DVD/CD
Directory -
Server -
User Name -
User Password -
Transfer Protocol -
Thank you!
Sarah

Use the latest devpack, just look at the numbering. No, you're not supposed to do absolutely anything to the devpacks after downloading them.
If you choose DVD/CD all those are grayed out, you're not supposed to type in nothing. Burn the file in a CD/DVD and put in in the tray.
If you choose remote filsesystem, you need to know what to type in there, as you need to set your own FTP/SFTP and configure all those parameters there, to then use matching values in CUCM.
Installation order does not matter.
If you're an end user, I'd recommend you to have your system admin do all this.

I am the system admin, so I will be doing the work.
Your explanation sounds very straight-forward so I shouldn't have any problems!

Hi Sarah,
Also, u need to reboot the server :
When you apply a Device Package to enable new device support, a cluster-wide reboot is required for those
devices to register successfully. A cluster-wide reboot is not required when you apply a Device Package to
update existing firmware or configuration.
