Answering line 2 with a wireless headset

We have a user with a wireless headset and EHS cable for remote answer. She has her own DID number on line 1 and the main DID number for the office on line 2. Is there a way for her to remotely answer line 2 from her headset? Currently she has to physically press the line 2 button in order to answer.

Thank you,

Scott

Answering line 2 with a wireless headset

Scott,

Do you have the "Always Use Prime Line" value set to "True" under Service Parameters>Cisco CallMananger?

This parameter specifies whether the primary line on an IP phone will  be selected, if available, when the user goes off-hook. If this  parameter is set to True, when a phone goes off-hook, the primary line  gets chosen and becomes the active line. Even if a call is ringing on  the user's second line, going off-hook makes only the first line active;  it does not answer the ringing call on the second line. In this case,  the user must choose the second line to answer the call. If this  parameter is set to False, the IP phone automatically chooses an  available line as the active line.
   This is a required field.
   Default:                  False
:                For this change to take effect on the SIP phones, you must click the  ApplyConfig button in Cisco Unified CM Administration (for example, on  the Device Configuration window, the Device Pool Configuration window,  or any other window on which ApplyConfig is an option). For affected SIP  phones only: if the new configuration is not applied, the SIP Always  Use Prime Line feature change will not be implemented until the next  reset of the Cisco CallManager service or reset of each affected device.

Answering line 2 with a wireless headset

Scott,

Why can't the user answer line 2 with the wireless headset? Is your intention, for the user to answer line 2, while the user is currently on line 1?

No she says if shes away from her desk and a call comes in on line 2 she can't answer from her headset without going back to her phone and pushing the line 2 button. Whereas, if the call is coming in on line 1 she can answer from her headset wherever she is.

Yes that was the setting that fixed it, however I also found you can change that setting on individual phones which is what I did here.

Thanks again,

Scott

Scott,

The single phone option is definitely a better solution. Glad everything is working as desired.
