Any answers to following multiple quesitons?

Hi,

All questions are based on CCM 4.1.3

Q1: Can multiple IP phones be given static IPs through BAT or any other automated process other then manual configuration?

Q2: How to enable auto-registration for dual-line phones (For ex 7940) where both the Phone lines get registered and take an extention from CCM sequentially?

Q3: If multiple route-lists point to same route-group, will the digit manipulation configured on that route group take effect for all the patterns reachable via any route-list? Is there a way to limit the manipulation for only few route-patterns reachable via certain route-lists without creating additional route-groups?

Q4: How many maximum number of partitions can be assigned to a single CSS in CCM 4.1.3?

Q5: What's the difference between MWI ON/OFF ports and Dialout MWI port in Unity 4.0 configuration ?

Appreciate your time,

Thanks,

Re: Any answers to following multiple quesitons?

Hi,

Q1: There is no way to do this

Q2: same as above

Q3: You are doing digit manipulation on a route group within a route list, this manipulation perteins only to this route lists, when you reuse the same route group on another route list you can do another manipulation

Q4: The limit is 512 characters, so if you make the parition names short you can squeeze more of them, keep in mind you can also assign CSS to the line, which depending on your design can make it 1024 characters

Q5: MWI ON turns message notifcation ON, and OFF turns it off, basically Unity dials these extensions to either enable or disable MWI

Thanks Chris,

Q5: There is a "Dialout MWI port" also in Unity alongwith MWI ON and MWI OFF. Does that mean the "Dialout MWI port" is used by unity to call MWI ON and MWI OFF nos? What exactly is the roll of "Dialout MWI port"?

Thanks,

Re: Any answers to following multiple quesitons?

that's correct. if the port is enabled for dialout MWI it will send the notifications for on and off

you can read the integration guide between CUCM and unity for the versions you're using if you want more info

Re: Any answers to following multiple quesitons?

That means the ports are allocated for MWI, typically you allocate 5% of port for MWI, so if you have 36 VM ports I would configure 2 of them for MWI, you also need to ensure these ports are not configured for call answer and removed from the VM Line group in CM to ensure proper operation.
