Ascom DECT CUCM Integration with E.164

Hello everyone, We have a customer who want's to integrate ASCOM DECT phones with CUCM 9.1. The customer has a E.164 dialplan (without +) and I read that ASCOM only supports a Maximum of 12 digits per phone. Per ASCOM Guide the DN should be integrated into the devicename e.g. DN = 1234 - Devicename = SEPeeeeeeee1234. Per design, if we have more than 12 digits we must redesign our dialplan to integrate ASCOM DECT?! Has someone experiences with ASCOM and an E.164 dialplan? Best regards Marcel

Hello Marcel,

I know this questions is from 2014, but I think it could help another one.

Right, the ascom device worked with 12 digits.

Example:
\+4921166612345
\+492116661234
The MAC should be "921166612345" >> SEP921166612345
The MAC should be "492116661234" >> SEP492116661234

Kind regards
Sandra

Hi Sandra,

what if the E.164 number is shorter than the 12 digits? I have this at one of my customers, where the E.164 number is 11 digits long and we're using a E.164 dialplan. The devicename must have 12 digits in cucm, i filled the first digit with an E, so the devicename is e.g. SEPE12345678912. But the Devices wont register on cucm. any ideas in how to accomplish a registration here?

Hi Mike,

I've tested this for a customer. Please test instead the "E" an "A" like A49123456789 (SEPAA49123456789). I hope this is working for you.

Kind Regards

Hi Mike,

it is a bit old, but maybe this helps somebody else:

in the Interoperbility Guide is the MEthod listed for the name of an ASCOM IP-DECT Device:

for E.164 with +:

If the number is longer the 12 digits the first digits will be not used:

+49123456789999 -> SEP123456789999

If the number is 12 or smaller, the + will be convertet to an A and the normal filling Charakter is E

+49123456789 -> A49123456789

+4912345678 -> EA4912345678

In the DECT Master there is an Button called "Register with number" this has to be umarked!!! In the Name Field at the User there hast be inserted the full E.164 with + sign.

Kind regards
