ATA 188s no longer registering CUCM 8

Last year I upgraded from 4.1.3 to CUCM 8.5 and it seems like over the past year I have been losing my ATA 188 devices.  They worked fine after the upgrade but as time progressed they are no longer able to register.  I know there is not a load for the 188 in CUCM 8 but they did work fine for a while.  I'm curious if anyone else has ran into this issue.  I have been replacing them with 186 units which work fine.  The RTMT tool will show some of the 188 devices with a StatusReason of "DeviceNumberMismatch" when I looked this up it looks like a SIP error but these devices are SCCP.

I have accumulated a pile of 188s now wondering if they are useless or if there is some way to get them working again.

ATA 188s no longer registering CUCM 8

The ATA 188 will not register , though if you try addidng it as ATA 186 , it will register with call manager version 8.x.

Make sure you give the DN as well to make it register.
