Auto QOS

We use 3750's and use auto QOS with Siemens VOIP phones. Is auto QOS specifically for Cisco VOIP phones or do all VOIP phones adhere to the same standards? We appear to be getting alot of jitter.

Re: Auto QOS

If you use the Auto-Qos with the auto qos voip cisco-phone option then the switch will be looking for CDP packets from an attached Cisco phone before providing the appropriate QoS treatment.

If you use Auto-Qos with the auto qos voip trust option then the switch will provide QoS treatment for voice packets tagged as DSCP EF and call signalling packets tagged as DSCP CS3 or AFF31.

If the Siemens VOIP marks voice packets as EF and call signalling as CS3 or AF31 then the auto qos trust option may be ok. If Siemens use other markings then auto-qos will not halp you and you will need to write some QoS policies from scratch.

The link below is a good place to start for this.
